This is something a little different for me. I’m working with pre-loved doilies. I’ve made this little cushion and used a stencil in the middle for the words, with free-motion sewing. It kind of looks like gothic meets grandma!! Ha!

A little summer holiday project. I love the way it isn’t perfect, the hessian style border with the stitching showing makes it simple and clean.

Hi! 🐝
Winter continues and the warmth of the sewing room beckons. So I just got home from church and made this sweet love picture. Simple and clean.

Have a nice day and I hope you are inspired to create 💕
This is my first journal and I love it! I’ve been watching You Tube tutorials and think they are lovely. I used the denim cut out from my Denim Delight, Decontructed Jacket, and I’ve got to say I’m now hooked on the denim with white freemotion sewing …….love!

I’m thought I was too much of an IT geek to use one as I prefer electronic medium rather than paper, but I could be tempted! And it smells so good…

Then I decided to add a small bag in the pocket at the front…

And why not have a matching pencil case to fit a few pens in…

I’ts a very rainy day here today so perfect for creating in my sewing room 🙂

Its been years since I made these little tissue packs. I saw a reasonable size packet of tissues in a shop and thought they would be fun to make, quick and easy. I searched on You Tube and found heaps of little demonstrations, and downloaded a pattern (yes a pattern!) because I had never made them lined before. And in effect lining them made them so much easier to make and tidy. It was also fun mixing two fabrics together, and using the flowers from one of my husbands old (clean) shirts (that had shrunk in the wash!).

One minute it was summer, next minute we’re right in the middle of winter! Brrrrr!
Thought I had better whip up a hotwater bottle cover quickly. Something I can keep in the lounge… you know, matches the decor! Plus needs to be snugly. This is a 100% wool baby blanket bought in an opshop… a little bit of old New Zealand that we all love, complete with the blue ribbon trim. Tidy!

I just felt like blinging a towel to match my bathroom..

Inspired during my holiday, at home by the sea, and a painting I found on Pinterest, I was inspired to do this piece of freemotion sewing.

This is the original piece “Padstow Seagulls” Canvas Art by Hannah Tolson, which features a friendly flock of seagulls flying over Padstow harbour.

Glorious holidays! Books, gardening, resting, fishing … sewing! It was great to start and finish a small mural style freemotion sewing project today …2nd January 2018!

Something a little different than I usually do. Maybe I’ll start a new one for tomorrow.
I spotted this skirt in an opshop a couple of months ago and thought that the embroidery on the fabric would look nice as something else. Wasn’t sure what exactly. And besides there were two skirts the same!

So I bought them and washed them (and later unpicked and ironed them) ready for ….today I guess! It’s time to replace the grey knitted cushions in the lounge with something a bit lighter for spring and summer! I’ve made two and I think I might just make another two for fun…

Just whipped up a Euro size cushion… shame to waste that lovely piece of skirt fabric!
