I always like to do something while watching tv in the evenings.

I recently found three balls of white wool so I started knitting the middle of a blanket. Given I don’t know how to follow a pattern I just did ‘knit’.

Then I ran out of the white so I decided to crochet some black around the edge. I didn’t love it until I purchased some grey for the final stage.

Super snugly and warm and quite pretty with the crochet frill.

So we now have the cutest grandson just living up the road ~ within walking distance. It’s so great. He is SO cute 🥰

I made him a little cushion…

(I also gave him a little book on birds which his dad, who is a super fisherman and loves nature and knows his birds, will love reading to him!)

It is a combination of free motion sewing and using my CRICUT to print and iron on the wording. I’m so pleased with the result.

I haven’t posted for ages. I’ve still been making things but you know what it’s like….time consuming! Ha!

Anyway, I made this the other day and sold it on Facebook Marketplace the day I finished making it for NZ$25. I was delighted that it went to a friend of my mum’s who was moving into a tiny house and thought it was just what she needed 💜

It doesn’t take long to add a bit of loviliness to towels in the bathroom. I don’t usually ‘bling’ the drying towels but just the ones people dry their hands on.

Also makes a great Christmas gift!

Bye for now!

I’m getting quite addicted to making these collaged window envelopes and little folders with secret pockets and places to write or tuck memories, poems, or special thoughts.

Send to someone in the post to make someone happy!

Or give as a special gift ~ tuck some money or a gift voucher into the pockets along with a special meaningful note. It’s more than just a card!

Or give to a friend to tuck into their Junk Journal.

Hey! How you going in lockdown?

I randomly discovered a video where this woman was making these cute little bags out of the duvet/sheet plastic bags and I thought, yep, I’ve got some of those.  I ordered some brads from Spotlight, and I made the little brown circles out of card with my CRICUT maker, and my mother in law had given me several rolls of pink silk rayon braid which was perfect for tying them up.  I really love them and they’re super quick to make.   Too easy!!

These little bags are so cute and quite handy.

I’ve been cutting out little hearts and flowers with my CRICUT Maker to have on hand so they are the perfect place to store them…

Here is the LINK to the YouTube tutorial I found.

As promised yesterday I thought I would do something relevant to the start of this year and our key message from our Prime Minister here in NZ.  We went into lock down hard and fast and it seems to be paying off.   Staying at home and in my bubble is easy for me.

As you’ve probably guessed by now, if you know me at all, I love little houses!  I also love to cross-stitch at night when I’m watching Netflix.  I feel like sitting watching Netflix isn’t a waste of time if I’m doing something!    So I cross-stitched this little house without a clue what it would end up like. I had it sitting with some other fabric and the stripes and floral just jumped out at me and I’m pleased to say I love the finished item.

I bought the floral fabric from AlieExpress. (I’ve been buying quite a bit of stuff from them lately.

After spending some time in the garden this morning it’s always nice to come inside and watch gardening programmes on Netflix while doing some sewing.  With Christmas coming up I’m trying to make as many Christmas presents as possible so it is enjoyable without the stress of time pressure.  I had one lovely piece of beaded fabric just enough for two purses and matched it with a soft fine weave sacking type fabric.
