I’m getting quite addicted to making these collaged window envelopes and little folders with secret pockets and places to write or tuck memories, poems, or special thoughts.

Send to someone in the post to make someone happy!

Or give as a special gift ~ tuck some money or a gift voucher into the pockets along with a special meaningful note. It’s more than just a card!

Or give to a friend to tuck into their Junk Journal.

Hi there!  I thought being in lockdown (in NZ) for the past two weeks I would have done way more creatively, but to be honest, I’ve been too busy, especially with work!  Anyway, a long Easter holiday weekend is perfect to have enough time to start to create.  So I just made this up as I went along…

Love your life ~ Freemotion sewing

I started by adding the red floral square and then picked up other pieces of fabric and it just emerged from there.

Maybe my next one will be bubbles … stay in your bubble!

My dad got me a whole stack of dry-cleaned white sheets ex hotels.  So I put my creative thinking cap on and decided to rip up strips to make into whatever I decided once knitted.  And so, where we have a fresh white cushion cover.

Now dad has made me these massive knitting needles (at my request) so I’m thinking about a hoopy blanket!  Watch this space!

Hi there!

The thing about the holidays is that you have the time to be creative, make a mess in your craft room, and leave it like that for a few days.  Yesterday morning I dug out a tiny cross-stitch which I would have done about a year ago.  I was going to frame it in a small frame and then thought it would be fun to make it bigger and add the free motion sewing component.  And the result is this little picture (frame is 28x36cm) which I really enjoyed making.  A friend asked me to make something for a baby room and I think this would be perfect.

Last day of my mini holiday (Queens Birthday weekend).  I have quite a few cross stitches that are finished waiting for me to frame, or make into cushions, book covers … who knows, and so I got started on this little one and just love it.  I think the mix of freemotion sewing, fabric and cross-stitch looks perfect.

A few weeks ago I scored three of these memorial tea towels for Horsham Downs school and I immediately set to work embellishing.  Today I finished off all the free motion sewing (quilting) and I’m pretty pleased with the result.  I will probably frame in a large frame with white edge and perhaps hang it in my laundry.  We will see.
